INRIA

Established in 1967, Inria is the only public research body fully dedicated to computational sciences. Combining computer sciences with mathematics, Inria’s 3,400 researchers strive to invent the digital technologies of the future. Educated at leading international universities, they creatively integrate basic research with applied research and dedicate themselves to solving real problems, collaborating with the main players in public and private research in France and abroad and transferring the fruits of their work to innovative companies.

Since 2008, Inria is the operator for Grid’5000 the French facility for experiment driven research, through ALADDIN-G5K, a technological development action. This facility, present on 10 different sites in France and now under extension to Luxembourg, enables repeatable experiments at all levels of the software stack thanks to deep reconfiguration capabilities where user can deploy they own operating system or hypervisor on the facility’s hardware. Grid’5000 is currently composed of 1171 nodes and 7896 cores. Since June 2010,
Inria hosts one of the 5 sites of the BonFIRE project that aims at providing to the community a testbed for internet of services experimentation.
